Broken Bow is located in McCurtain County, Oklahoma in beautiful Kiamichi
Country - a one of a kind outdoor
paradise. In the heart of Beavers Bend Country, the city is the gateway to Broken Bow Lake, Mountain Fork and Glover Rivers and the Ouachita National Forest. Beavers Bend Resort Park
is located along the Mountain Fork River and provides
cabins and many other recreational facilities. The park is located 6 miles north
of Broken Bow, Oklahoma on Hwy. 259A.

Broken Bow's population is about 4,230, but during the summer time, the
incoming visitors increase the population considerably.
With the average summer temperature of 80 degrees, Broken Bow is a wonderful
place to visit for a weekend, a week, or a lifetime.

Broken Bow Lake has 180 miles of shoreline and covers 14,200 acres. The lake's
clear waters provide one of the best year-round fishing in Oklahoma. Largemouth
bass, smallmouth bass, sand bass, crappie, channel catfish, flathead catfish,
and
some varieties of sunfish.
Broken Bow Public Hunting Area. There are 5,420 acres that are open for
hunting. The area is predominately forest area, providing habitat for deer, wild
turkey, and squirrel.
McCurtain County Wilderness Area. The MCWA's 14,087 acres of oak and pine forest is
adjacent to and northwest of the lake. No hunting is permitted in the area and
public access is strictly regulated. Bald eagles are sighted regularly in the
area and they routinely winter on the Broken Bow Reservoir and Mountain Fork
River.
Broken Bow has its small town charm but it claims one of the
best R and R areas anywhere in Oklahoma and elsewhere!
